Managing PartnerManaging Partner at Durham Agrellos with over 25 years' experience providing advisory services in tax and private wealth law, has extensive expertise in advising UHNW and HNW families, investors, family-owned groups, and multinational enterprises with interests in Portugal, as well as banks with private banking operations, family offices, and asset managers. His practice encompasses wealth restructuring, tax and succession planning, the design of family governance strategies, and tax litigation and arbitration, both in a national and international context. Acts as a tax arbitrator at the Administrative Arbitration Centre (CAAD) and has lectured on tax law at Católica Porto Business School. Maria João Dias
PartnerMaria João Dias specialises in mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, contract negotiation, and corporate group restructurings. With over 20 years of experience, she held the role of Head of Legal, Corporate and M&A at Sonae Capital, one of Portugal's largest and most prominent business groups. At Durham Agrellos, she brings her corporate and M&A expertise to the firm's private wealth and tax practice, advising clients on complex transactions and corporate structuring. She regularly writes articles on corporate law and participates in seminars and conferences in this area. Has extensive experience in consultancy, quality and human resources management, and administrative support within legal environments. As Office Manager, is responsible for the firm's operational, financial, and administrative management, including resource coordination, billing and treasury functions, supplier management, internal communications, and support to the practice groups. Also serves as a guest lecturer at Instituto Piaget, delivering seminars in Human Resources Management.
